The authors would like to thank The Management Center, whose support through the Schilling Fund made this project possible, as well as the San Francisco Foundation Community Initiative Funds, whose fiscal sponsorship and guidance helped us implement this project. Additionally, we are very grateful to Jewish Vocational Services' (JVS) Executive Director Abby Snay, whose comments and suggestions throughout the book were extremely useful. Thanks also to JVS for the donation of office space and staff time for BANJO support group meetings, the heart of our mission of helping nonprofit job seekers. The designer thanks dinc type (www.girlswhowearglasses.com) for the free Dialtone font and Guys & Dolls clip art.

The idea for this book was adapted from a 1997 publication by J. Buckley and Amy Cohen of Frontlash, How to Get Paid to Change the World. We'd like to thank the participants of BANJO support group meetings and the BANJO listserve for additional ideas and confirmation of our observations about the job search, particularly those individuals who contributed quotations to the book. Finally, we'd like to thank all the mentors and advisers who have helped us in our many collective job search experiences and enabled us to write this book to help others in those shoes!
