1. Tell us a little about yourself.
By day, I'm the Online Engagement Coordinator for the NC League of Conservation Voters, an environmental advocacy nonprofit that works to promote sound environmental policies (you know: things like clean water, renewable electricity, and protecting our open spaces!). By night, I'm the current chair of YNPN Triangle NC. I've had the pleasure of being a member for four years, and feel it an honor to be leading the ship for a couple of years. When not trying to save the environment or build future leaders, I love to take adventures with my partner Aaron, cook, putz in the garden, read, and gorge on shows like Park & Rec.

Fun fact: Growing up, I played five instruments: piano, clarinet, flute, alto sax, and melaphone. These days, it's a sad zero. Oh to be in band again!

2. Where can we find you on social media?
You can find me at @NoYinKatie on both Twitter and Instagram. Most people pronounce it as "No-Yin." It actually stands for: "No-Y-In-Katie." Crafty, eh?

3. What excites you most about the National Conference?
The sheer energy and camaraderie of connecting with folks - literally from around the country - who face the same challenges, experience the same wins, and are trying to make their communities a better place in a host of ways. I had the pleasure of attending the national conference in 2012, and it changed my life in many positive ways. I'm excited to grow and push against some of my own internal barriers, and I'm eager to meet some of the amazing folks who make up YNPN!

PS: The headshot is from right before I started my second marathon - hence my fear. It went overall pretty well :)

1. Tell us a little about yourself.
Over the past 10 years I’ve been involved in the nonprofit and public sectors, working in museums, libraries, and science centers. Currently, I’m a Program Coordinator in Volunteer Services at Multnomah County Library, a public library system which connects meaningful volunteer opportunities to over 1,900 community members each year.

I'm thrilled to be the new Marketing Chair on the board of YNPN Portland, after being a committee member for over two years. YNPN Portland people are some of the most inspired and driven I’ve ever met, and I count myself lucky to work with them.

Fun fact: I’m a total whale nerd. Let’s talk cetaceans!

3. What excites you most about the National Conference?
YNPN does a phenomenal job of recognizing members as leaders and changemakers, no matter where we fit in the structure of our organizations. We're empowered to lead now, not at some far-off future point. I see the National Conference as a way to continue building that momentum by connecting with amazing people and expanding my knowledge and skills through the sessions.

I work for an Association Management Company and assist with the communications and membership management for 3 nonprofit membership organizations. I am the communication chair for YNPN Phoenix.

Fun Fact: In 2011 I ran the Hispaniola Half Marathon in the Dominican Republic.

2. Where can we find you on social media?
You can find me on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook!

3. What excites you most about the National Conference?
Meeting all the wonderful people doing similar things we do in Phoenix to help young professionals reach their goals.
