Join a Committee
The current leadership of YNPN Austin consists of a fifteen-member Board of Directors that oversees non-programmatic operations and organization-level decisions. Administration of our events, communications, fundraising, and programs is managed by one of our Programming, Membership, Development, and Communications Committees. YNPN Austin is continuously recruiting passionate and talented individuals to help with the operation of our organization. What does “young professional” mean exactly?
What does it mean to you? You should know that the majority of our members are nonprofit professionals in their 20's and 30's, but like many professional associations, we are grassroots-based, and we allow individuals to self-identify themselves as young professionals. Attend a YNPN event to see how you can fit in with the burgeoning young nonprofit professional community.
Participate in YNPN Programs
We coordinate programs to bring young professionals together to meet peers, swap ideas, build contacts and lend a hand. To find out about current program offerings, check out the Events section of our homepage.
Attend Social Networking Events
We host frequent social networking events where young professionals can meet one another and share ideas. Events include monthly happy hours, consolidated volunteer efforts, group discussions and more. We encourage members to invite other interested individuals to join our networking events and learn more about YNPN Austin, and the nonprofit sector. Click here to learn how to join the committee.
Attend Professional Development Workshops
Members can attend our professional development workshops to learn valuable skills in nonprofit work, including topics such as project management, presentation delivery and personal branding for the job search. Click here to learn how to join the committee.
Volunteer
YNPN promotes volunteer opportunities for local nonprofit organizations through this website and our Friday Digest. We encourage all people to find a passion or cause of interest and volunteer some of their time. Community service is the backbone of a strong and healthy social foundation. We save you the research time so you invest that valuable time back into the nonprofit of your choice. Whatever your personal motivation - altruism, quality of life, giving back, sense of duty, career experience or social reasons - the rewards for doing service within the community are endless.
