Event Description - Professional Development Speaker, Raul Yzaguirre
Raul Yzaguirre, Executive Director and Presidential Professor of Practice, Center for Community Development and Civil Rights at Arizona State University will be speaking with YNPN Phoenix members about his experiences building National Council La Raza (NCLR) into the nation’s largest Hispanic constituency-based organization and discussing with us his new work at the Center for Community Development and Civil Rights at ASU.

Take this opportunity to hear from Raul on what it takes to be an effective nonprofit leader and hear his thoughts on the role Hispanic leaders hold in shaping our community's future.

In January 2005 Yzaguirre joined Arizona State University after serving thirty years as President and CEO of NCLR.  He currently serves on boards of United Way of America, AARP, and the Hispanic Association for Corporate Responsibility among others.  A frequent commentator in national media, his insight, expertise, and candor is sought out as he continues to advocate for a better world. Raul's experiences at NCLR are chronicled in the book, Forces for Good, The Six Practices of High Impact Nonprotis.
