Local Nonprofit Leaders Join YNPNdc Advisory Council For 2010

Ten members of Washington, D.C.'s nonprofit community are lending their experience and talents to support the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of D.C. as members of the organization's Advisory Council for 2010.
 
These leaders will offer input that directly supports the organization's ability to effectively serve the more than 6,000 YNPNdc members in the D.C. Metropolitan area. Their guidance and support helps guide YNPNdc's Board of Directors to develop innovative and useful opportunities.

"Each of these remarkable individuals is deeply engaged in the leadership of their own organizations, yet is demonstrating an incredible commitment to empowering and educating young nonprofit professionals through their membership on the YNPNdc Advisory Council," said Jessica Griffin, co-Chairwoman of YNPNdc's Board of Directors. "YNPNdc is thrilled to be partnering with both new and returning members of the Advisory Council."

The returning Advisory Council members are:

  • Alan Abramson,  Professor, George Mason University
  • Christina (Chris) Bitting, Vice-President for Membership Services, American Association of State Colleges and Universities
  • Robert Egger,  President & Founder, D.C. Central Kitchen and the V3 Campaign
  • Linda Nguyen, Alliance for Children and Families
  • Bill Tucker, Chief Operating Officer, Education Sector
  • Dr. Michael Worth, Professor, George Washington University

They are joined this year by four new members:
  • Chuck Bean, Executive Director of The Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington
  • Brian Flahaven, Director of Government Relations and Institutionally Related Foundations at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education
  • Alexis Terry, Director of Diversity and Inclusion at ASAE and the Center
  • Rosetta Thurman, Speaker, teacher, and President of Thurman Consulting

The Advisory Council supports YNPNdc's mission of promoting a healthy, inclusive nonprofit sector that supports the growth, learning and development of young professionals. Each members serves a minimum 13 month term, with an option to renew.
