What does it mean to take a leadership role?
“When I come up with a new idea, my committee and the rest of the YNPNdc leadership takes it seriously. I get to work on my idea with others and see it through from beginning to end. There is a huge satisfaction in that.”
- Soumya Vishnu
There are 2 roles for leaders within YNPNdc:
Board of Directors
Board members serve a 2-year term and set the strategic vision for YNPNdc. They work with teams of Board and Leadership Council members to ensure that the YNPNdc vision becomes a reality. Board members have formal legal, governance, and fiduciary responsibilities to YNPNdc. The Board consists of 13 members, each of whom commits approximately 30 hours per month to YNPNdc.
Leadership Council
Leadership Council members serve a 1-year term and work on a team to accomplish all YNPNdc goals. Leadership Council members have the option to serve on 1 or more committees, providing them with exposure to multiple facets of YNPNdc. Leadership Council members plan and execute events, write grants, spread the word about YNPNdc, communicate our message, manage YNPNdc social media, and more. Approximately 20 Leadership Council members will each serve approximately 10-15 hours per month.
