Dan is a currently a first-year MBA student at the Yale School of
Management, where he is learning to apply core
management skills to a career focused on maximizing social impact.
Before Yale,
Dan spent five years in DC helping to grow entrepreneurial nonprofits.
As part
of College Summit’s national development and growth strategy teams, Dan
helped launch
new sites, led strategy for engaging the organization’s national
network of college
partners, staffed senior executives on key projects, and stewarded
College
Summit’s relationship with the Gates Foundation. Simultaneously, Dan
was an active member of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of DC
(YNPNdc) Board of Directors, serving as Co-Chair in 2008-09 to round
out his three-year tenure. In this role, Dan oversaw a 20-person
board that tripled earned revenue and increased membership by 50% and
programming by 33% in one year. Dan was recently elected a member of YNPN’s
National Board of Directors and will begin his term in 2010.

Ese
S. Emerhi is a Program Officer in the Exchanges Department at Freedom
House,
where she works closely with the Middle East and North Africa region to
provide
two-way professional exchanges for human rights advocates and defenders.
Prior
to that, she served as the Program Manager for the Washington Academic
Internship Program of the John Glenn School of Public Policy. Before
moving to
Washington, D.C., she worked as Legislative Aide to Ohio Senate Minority
Leader
Senator C.J. Prentiss (D-OH) for five years. In
her capacity as Legislative Aide, Ms. Emerhi edited the National Black
Caucus
of State Legislators white paper entitled ‘Closing the Achievement
Gap –
Improving Educational Outcomes for African American Students’ 2001. The white paper highlighted the
vast
disparity in education between black and white students and outlined
possible
solutions to closing the widening gap in education.

Maya Enista has been with Mobilize.org since July 2005. She has worked in both the Washington, D.C. and California offices as the Chief Operating Officer. On March 3, 2008, Maya became the Chief Executive Officer of Mobilize.org, following the departure of Founder and Executive Director David Smith. At 26 years old, Maya is a veteran in the public service sector, beginning her non-profit career 8 years ago. Maya has been active in public service since she was an undergraduate at Rutgers University, focusing mainly on voter empowerment and youth civic engagement. She began her career as the East Coast Coordinator for Rock The Vote at age 17, a position in which she registered over 30,000 young people. Through her work with Rock The Vote, Maya was awarded the first ever Rock The Vote "Rockin' The Street's" award. She continued her voter registration work when she accepted the position of National Field Director for the Hip Hop Civic Engagement Project, a project that grew out of the successful National Hip Hop Political Convention in Newark, NJ. Maya organized a 13 state campaign that registered over 300,000 new voters in the "hip hop generation. In addition to her work with Mobilize.org, Maya serves on the Advisory Board for CIRCLE, the Working Group for the Civic Health Index of the National Conference on Citizenship, and the Board of Directors for Youth Service California. For her leadership, Maya has been awarded a YouthActionNet Fellowship, the Independent Sector NGEN American Express Fellowship and Utne Reader’s 50 Visionaries Changing Your World Award. Maya, very proud of her Jersey roots, grew up in Maplewood, New Jersey and attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Her black labs, Hudson and Zin, have grow accustomed to her busy life style and have now lived in five states in less than two years. | |

Kim Hendler Vice Chair Managing Director of Talent, iMentor New York, NY
Kim is the
Managing Director of Talent iMentor. Prior to joining iMentor, she
spent 3 years as Executive Director of Princeton Project
55. There she oversaw the growth of Project 55's flagship nonprofit
fellowship program, which encourages recent graduates from Princeton to
build careers in civic leadership through year-long fellowships at
nonprofit organizations. Prior to working for Project 55, Kim worked
for El Pomar Foundation in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she
participated in a nonprofit leadership development fellowship program;
directed a youth grant making program in 138 high schools; co-directed
fellowship hiring; and supported the foundation's grant making. In
addition to serving as
Vice Chair of the YNPN National Board,
Kim is an alumni interviewer for Brown University, a mentor through
iMentor and involved with
Resource Generation. She has run workshops on a variety of topics in
leadership and nonprofit management for diverse groups including
outdoor leadership programs, youth philanthropy initiatives, community
volunteers, high school students, and young professionals. Kim is
committed to attracting talent to the nonprofit sector and making it a
sustainable place to start and grow a career.

Johnson Center for Philanthropy at Grand Valley State University. In her work, Tera manages the website npgoodpractice.org, manages marketing and communications for the Center, co-facilitates the Encore Coming of Age Learning Lab, and provides technical assistance to local nonprofit organizations in the areas of social media, volunteer management, capacity building, strategic planning, and governance. As
a member of the community Tera is currently serving as the Vice
President of the League of Women Voters Grand Rapids, is founder and co-chair of YNPN of Greater Grand Rapids, and is a member of the
Independent Sector NGen Planning Committee. Tera has her B.S.
from Grand Valley State University in Public and Nonprofit
Administration with an emphasis in Nonprofit Management and is
currently working on her MPA at Grand Valley in Nonprofit Management. A proud citizen of Michigan, Tera has lived in West Michigan her entire life and now resides in Grand Rapids with her husband Rob, their great dane Penny, and cat Lucy.
